What qualities can I expect from a Shake A Paw puppy?
Shake A Paw goes to great lengths to ensure that every puppy we sell is a healthy, happy puppy and is a good representation of the breed. It is also important for puppies to be properly socialized, and you will find that our puppies are among the most social around. Our puppies are not locked behind a glass wall where they cannot be interacted with. They are out in the open to be loved and snuggled with. It is also important to us that our puppies are good quality pups. By this, we mean many of our puppies are very pretty or handsome pups. Many of our pups are from champion or show breeding lines, but all are extremely cute.
Will my puppy be registered?
About 95% of our puppies are registered with one of the several canine registries in existence today (AKC, UKC, APR, ACA, etc. . .). However, there are some breeds that are simply not registered by any registry. Many of these breeds are new to the world of puppies and have not yet been recognized by the pet registries. You will be informed at the store which registry your puppy is registered with, and registration forms will be provided at the time of purchase or shortly thereafter.
How do I know my new puppy will be healthy?
Shake A Paw puppies are carefully screened by experienced veterinarians before they are sent to our stores. Once they arrive they are examined again by a veterinarian to make sure nothing has been overlooked. They are vaccinated and wormed up to date and their shot records are available to be viewed when you are making your purchase. Why buy a puppy from Shake A Paw when I can adopt one?
When deciding whether to buy or adopt a puppy there are a few things that need to be considered. First, are the physical characteristics you are looking for. With a purebred pup, you will know the approximate full grown size and weight of your dog. When you adopt a mixed breed, it is difficult to approximate full grown size. To some people whether or not a dog sheds and the length of the hair is an important factor.

These traits are easily identified with a purebred pup and this is not the case with a mixed breed. It is almost impossible to tell in a mixed breed dog. Secondly, the temperament and exercise requirements for each purebred pup are known by our experienced staff members. Temperaments on mixed breeds are unpredictable and impossible to determine. It should be noted that many dogs are brought to shelters because of temperament and personality problems such as barking, biting, jumping and aggressive behavior. While many local shelters will tell you these problems beforehand, some may not and you may be adopting someone else's problems.
Why not buy a puppy from a breeder, instead of Shake A Paw?
When deciding to purchase a puppy, there are many advantages to visiting your local Shake A Paw puppy store rather than finding a breeder. First, we have an enormous selection of puppies. We can offer a variety of breeds, price ranges, and temperaments. A breeder will typically have only 1 litter of pups and your selection will be limited to the particular breed of pups that they have.

Second, Shake A Paw has an incredible, unmatched health guarantee. A breeder, though they may offer some sort of health policy, would not be able to afford you the same guarantee as the Shake A Paw lifetime guarantee.

Most important, the experienced staff at Shake A Paw is there to help you decide on a puppy that is right for you and we are here for you, 7 days a week to answer any questions you may have after you take your new puppy home. Our staff members include experts in the areas of training, grooming and puppy health care.

Are your puppies micro-chipped?
Yes all our puppies are micro-chipped before you purchase them. Micro-chip registration will be made available and explained at the time of purchase. This is very important if your puppy should ever become lost. If the microchip is registered, then there is a very good chance you will recover your puppy.
