Description: Bold and spirited, the Welsh Terrier is similar to the Airedale Terrier and Lakeland Terrier in appearance. A true terrier at heart, they are not as hot-headed as some of the other terriers. They are affectionate dogs who have outgoing natures making them ideal family pets. Welsh Terriers are reserved around strangers, and make brave watchdogs. Welsh Terriers are a game dog-alert, aware, spirited-but at the same time, is friendly and shows self control. Welsh Terriers are intelligence and have a desire to please which is evident in their attitude.

Country of Origin: Celtic
History: Developed in North Wales and the north of England they were used to hunt otter, fox and badgers. Their direct ancestors are two strains. The Celtic strain using the coarse-haired Black and Tan Terrier and the English strain using the Airedale and Fox Terrier.
